Fukamushicha

Japanese Characters: 深蒸し茶

Fukamushicha, Meaning – ‘Long Steamed Tea’, Fukamushicha is a Sencha tea that has been deep steamed.

Fukamushicha” is a sub-tea of Sencha whereas deep steaming for twice as long causes the leaves to crumble and release an overall ‘fuller’ beverage.

Appearance of Fukamushicha

Fukamushicha has a deeper grassy green than regular Sencha.

Cultivation

The cultivation of Fukamushicha is the same as regular Sencha – Plants are grown in full sunlight for the duration of their life, this increases the Vitamin C and Tannin content of the leaves.

Taste

Fukamushicha has a deep, sweet grassy flavour accompanied by a light vegetal aroma.

Preparation
